We recently extended the AzS HCI free trial period from 30 to 60 days, to provide a platform for test / eval. Our strategic direction for a hypervisor platform is with Azure Stack HCI, it is a purpose built solution hybrid infrastructure for running virtual machines. Some minor changes to pricing and channels, announcements coming very soon. Yes, there is a Windows Server 2022 Essentials edition. Microsoft's Elden Christensen wrote on in this Techcommunity post that an Essentials Server 2022 is coming. And Tymoteusz Partyka pointed out another place, where Essentials has been mentioned. German blog reader Oliver Sommer mentioned within this German comment, that he just have gotten licensing and pricing information on Essentials 2022. However, due to the Hyper-V Server topic, there was then feedback from German blog readers (thanks for that) – that Microsoft also offers Essential licenses for small business units. The websites of colleagues also assume until now that there will be no Essentials. I have also searched the Internet, but have not found anything on the topic in the last days.
